BEFORE COMING TO CLASS

Before coming to class

To prepare yourself for class, you only need to bring your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn! There are no prerequisites or preconditions for learning CPR.

That said, there are two things to consider in order to maximize your experience:

· You need comfortable clothes

You will be asked to work with the CPR mannequins. You will have to kneel, and you will be engaging in intense physical activity (CPR is great exercise if you do it right!). You will also be asked to lie down for various scenarios to be enacted with your classmates, when you work through different protocols in First Aid or BLS. It’s best to wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty from sitting or rolling on the floor.

· There will be a test

You will be asked to prove the skills you have learned in order to obtain your certification. But don’t worry! You will know exactly what to do.

Which class is the one for you?

You have a selection of classes to choose from. Determining which is good for you depends on two elements:

· Do you need certification for your job?

· Are you interested to learn for personal readiness?

If your job requires you to be trained in CPR, you should choose the course that is OSHA compliant for you.

If you are seeking to learn for your benefit and your family’s, it’s best to enroll in the most inclusive course, so that you will be in a position to deal with most, if not all, emergency situations you may encounter in daily life.

If you are in time constraints, consider the basic CPR course, which is only a few hours long and will still give you vital life-saving skills.
